The Northbrook Civic Foundation was originally established in 1907 and has one primary fundraising event each year — Northbrook Days Festival which was started in 1925 -–  and is held each summer in downtown Northbrook. The five-day festival includes a carnival, games, the grand prize raffle, food from local restaurants, beer & wine, and live music stages. This year, the dates of the festival are Wednesday, August 2nd through Sunday, August 6th.All of the proceeds from Northbrook Days are funneled back into the community through Civic Foundation grants and scholarships. Civic Foundation scholarships are for Northbrook residents who are entering college, university, junior college, trade, vocational or technical school. In 2022, $50,000 in scholarships were awarded to graduating GBN seniors. The Northbrook Civic Foundation also supports the community through active participation and funding of projects that enhance the quality of life in Northbrook. Just in the last few years, the Civic Foundation has provided grants to local organizations including TotalLink2 Community, C.A.T.C.H., the Northbrook Public Library, Northbrook Speedskating, Special Gifts Theatre, and Elyssa’s Mission, plus Civic is a major supporter of the annual Glenbrook North Grad Night festivities
